We are excited to announce our live virtual workshop series, “Seeds of Change.” This is a FREE three-week online workshop series for those who are interested in home gardening, outdoor education for children, and easy food forest strategies. Each virtual workshop will be led by a gardening expert such as Rob Greenfield, Laura Honda, and Shad Qudsi. (Learn more about the experts below!)
The second virtual workshop of the series is on Thursday, February 18th at 12pm-1pm Pacific featuring Laura Honda, an award-winning teacher. Laura Honda
Laura Dax Honda has taught just about every subject during her 25 years as an educator, but environmental education is admittedly her specialty. Her innovative teaching methods and emphasis on student-centered classroom activities helped garnered her a Distinguished Science Teacher of the Year award from the California State Teachers Association. Honda's passion in this area helped propel her district in Fairfax from a field tester to a pilot district to an early adopter of the Environmental Education Initiative (EEI) curriculum. Shad Qusdi
Shad is a passionate farmer, designer, and permaculturalist. He has lived and worked in Tzununa, Guatemala, for the past 12 years, where he and his wife founded Atitlan Organics, a permaculture inspired organic farm. His passion grows from a belief that humans can live harmoniously on the planet and meet all their needs while actually enhancing the local and global ecology. Learn more about Shad here.
