In a Climate-Changed World
New Land Management Practices Are Essential

SAN FRANCISCO, CA
NEWS PROVIDED BY WELLKIND

California and the West is facing unprecedented ecological challenges, species losses, and “out of control” fires. Yet, woefully out of date and, in some cases, even harmful forest & property management practices are being suggested and applied. Yet, there are simple ways that you can help moderate some of the most harmful changes.

Human influence has warmed the climate at a rate that is unprecedented in at least the last 2000 years. Global temperatures over past 50 years are highest they have been in over 2000 years. In addition, prolonged drought, atmospheric conditions and increased UV radiation are also problems driving loss of trees and wildlife.

Traditional forest practices put in place over a hundred years ago are being applied to “solve the problem,” but they are simply making things worse. This is bad news for wildlife, taxpayers and fails to prevent loss of life and property damage from fires.

Join WellKind’s Executive Director and scientist, Catriona Glazebrook, on June 28th at 6 pm (Pacific Time) for an eye-opening workshop that will likely surprise you and inform you on best management practices to protect your trees and wildlife given the state of our world today.

She will also briefly cover the direct cause of the new inferno type fires, how they differ from fires of the recent past, and the importance of having an evacuation plan in place.

Sign up today and benefit from becoming knowledgeable about simple steps you can take on your land. Three lucky participants will receive a free 30-minute consultation for management tips on their own property.

Bio: Glazebrook has over 30 years of experience in habitat management, species protection, and conservation. She managed one of the largest coastal sanctuaries in the USA. Sanctuary conservation efforts were awarded the Blue Ribbon by the Governor and led, in part, to the comeback of endangered species. She continues to assist property owners and land managers in developing management plans for private and publicly owned land. Catriona has a Master of Science in Resource Management & Administration.
